Analytics counts visits. It never counts what they were worth.
Google Analytics measures sessions. Shopify measures buyers. Neither knows which of those orders survived the doorstep. Margifi joins all three, so a visit carries a number your bank statement agrees with — computed only across the days your courier has actually confirmed, and labelled with that coverage on the card itself.
- Sessions from Google Analytics
- Profit from courier-confirmed days only

The join
A visit costs a known amount. It returns an unknown one.
Cost per session is easy — your spend divided by your sessions, and both exist from the first sync. What a session gives back is the hard half: it depends on which orders the courier delivered and which came back as an RTO, and that answer arrives days later. Margifi waits for it rather than modelling it.
So the two numbers are deliberately not computed over the same days. Cost per session spans every day in the range. Profit per session spans only the days your courier has confirmed — profit on one side, those same days' sessions on the other, never mixed bases — and the card states the coverage instead of implying a full range.
Real pilot brand — a recent 30-day window. ₹2,82,047.56 of spend bought 69,125 sessions and 597 orders. The last two days are still awaiting courier outcomes, which is why the profit side covers 28 days and not 30.
- Sessions landGoogle Analytics reports the visit — channel, device, engagement. Add Margifi's analytics service account as a Viewer on your property and paste the Property ID. No OAuth, nothing installed on your store.
- Shopify names the buyersThe bottom of this funnel is always a Shopify order, never an analytics event. Platform checkout events are unreliable enough to mislead, so Margifi doesn't render them at all.
- The courier settles itDelivered or returned, order by order. Only days with a confirmed outcome contribute profit, so a day nobody has decided yet is never quietly counted as a zero.
Where sessions come from
The biggest channel on most stores is nobody.
Untagged traffic doesn't vanish — it lands in a bucket most dashboards fold away into “other” so the pie looks complete. Margifi shows it as its own row, at its real size, because it is the honest measure of how much of your traffic has no recorded origin.
On this brand only 2.8% of 597 orders carried a recognisable source, and Google Analytics independently failed to assign 37.9% of sessions to any channel — two separate measurements of the same gap. That is a fixable brand problem, not a limit of the pipeline: measured coverage across current brands runs from under 1% to almost 100%. Margifi ships a UTM builder for exactly this, and flags tags that shipped with an unreplaced macro.
Sessions only. Margifi does not publish profit or revenue by source — the data to join a rupee of delivered margin to a traffic source honestly does not exist, and we would rather show you the gap than fill it.
The boundary
What this screen will never tell you.
Search Console sits beside your sessions — clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, so organic demand is on the same screen as paid. What it will not do is invent the joins underneath. Every tool in this category sells attribution; Margifi's traffic screen is deliberately the descriptive half, and says so.
Real pilot brand — 29 of the 30 days in the window. Search Console fills in over the following days, and a day we never received is shown as missing rather than counted as a zero.
No revenue by source
Sessions by channel, yes. Rupees by channel, no. Tying delivered margin to a traffic source needs identifiers that simply are not on the orders — so the split you would get is a guess wearing a decimal point.
No click-level attribution
Shopify hands over the campaign tags a visit arrived with and strips the rest of the link before we ever see it. Across every order stored, not one carries an ad click ID. We say that plainly rather than modelling around it.
No borrowed funnel
Analytics platforms report their own cart and checkout events, and on this brand they disagreed with Shopify by roughly five times. The bottom of every funnel here is a Shopify order, so that disagreement can never reach a decision.
Traffic, plainly.
Google Analytics, for sessions. You add Margifi's analytics service account as a Viewer on your GA4 property and paste the Property ID in Settings → Connections — no OAuth, no pixel, nothing installed on your store. Search Console is a second, optional connection for organic search. Sessions start appearing at the next sync.
